Moving out and have furniture or household and personal items to get rid of?

Operated in partnership with Harvard Recycling, Harvard University Housing maintains four Reuse Stations during the moving season to collect your unwanted items.

Stations are available May 5th!

WHERE TO DROP OFF YOUR DONATIONS

*It is important that you do not leave any unwanted items in your apartment, hallways, lobbies, trash areas, or elsewhere on the grounds of your property.

LARGE ITEMS

Loose or boxed (cleaned and/or wiped down):

  •  Furniture including tables, chairs, couches, dressers, desks, beds, mirrors, storage crates, trash cans, bulletin boards, rugs, etc.
  • Dishes, cups, silverware, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils
  • Tools and small appliances including mini-fridges, microwaves, fans, AC’s, lamps, clocks
  • Computers and parts, printers, cords, phones and other electronics, working or broken
  • Textbooks
  • Clothing, shoes, blankets, bedding, small books, office supplies, toys, and other various small housewares

FOOD AND SUPPLY DONATION

Collected bagged or in boxes:

  • Only Non-perishable and unopened food items, bath/beauty supplies, and household cleaners

TEXTILES AND MATTRESS RECYCLING

  • All textiles and mattresses are banned from the trash in Massachusetts, so even if not in reusable condition, they can be left in the Reuse Station for proper disposal by Harvard Recycling

Unsure where a specific item can go? Use the Waste Wizard to find out!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Donations are sent to the Harvard Recycling & Surplus Center, where they are reused by those in need, by Harvard’s Habitat for Humanity, or by other local nonprofits.

Thank you for your support to keep reusable items out of the landfills!

Sincerely,

Harvard University Housing
