Harvard Next Gen Initiative at GCP

The “Next Gen Initiative” is a pilot program focused on building collaborative networks and defined resources for staff and faculty who are working with first-gen students across Harvard and creating a leadership development and support program for first-generation college and graduate students from all twelve schools. Our initiative defines “first-gen” as the first person in their families to attend or graduate from a four-year institution or graduate program in the US.

The series is unique because of its ONE HARVARD focus at the administrative and programmatic levels. Currently, the pilot is supported by 7 offices, including Graduate Commons and over a dozen administrators, faculty, and staff currently working with first-gen students at Harvard.

Join GCP and the Next Gen Initiative on Friday, November 8th at Memorial Church for a special morning prayer (8:45am)  with HKS' David Gergen and a MemCafe to follow in honor of National First Gen Day!  Look for other upcoming Next Gen events on our calendars.
