Graduate Commons Program

Welcome to Graduate Commons! This unique interdisciplinary program provides a “home away from home” for the Harvard graduate students, faculty, post-docs, staff, and their families living in Harvard University Housing properties.

We are committed to making your Harvard experience a truly remarkable one, both in and outside the classroom by hosting events that spark your intellectual curiosity, challenge your physical being, and make a difference to your community. Programming includes wine and coffee nights, meet the scholar events, yoga classes, game nights, networking happy hours, Boston traditions like the Boston Pops! Holiday concert and much, much more!

HUH Common Spaces

HUH will continue to keep our common spaces, including common rooms, study rooms, fitness rooms, and playrooms closed based on advice from our campus health and safety partners.  HUH will continue to connect with our partners and explore whether we can safely reopen our spaces in a phased and responsible manner in accordance with local and University guidelines.  Information and use details will be provided to residents as these spaces become available.

In its 3rd year, Grad Fest 2020 is shifting to a virtual space to provide all graduate students across all 12 Schools with opportunities to gather, connect to resources, and celebrate their experiences and identities at Harvard. The event is scheduled for October 15 from 6:30-8:30pm. We expect an audience of about 500 students. You can see highlights from last year’s event here

As we prepare, we are creating a few montages for a pre-produced portion of the event. One of these montages will highlight graduate students introducing themselves to the community. ! We hope you can take a bit of time to submit a short video to help us reimagine Grad Fest for 2020. Please find all of the details at the link above!

Join the Graduate Commons community as we kick off another year of turning strangers into neighbors!  Majority of events will be virtual this year with some physically distanced in-person opportunites when we are able.  Hope to meet you on zoom soon!
